Procedure of the Ultrasound Scan

You need to wear loose and comfortable clothes for the ultrasound scan as the area to be examined should be naked. If you are not wearing appropriate clothes, you will be given a hospital gown to wear. You will be asked to lie on a scan table. The area of concern will be exposed and a special Gel will be applied to the area. The specialised Gel is used for the scan as the gel prevents unnecessary air from getting in between the scanner/transducer and the skin. Then a probe is used known as the transducer. Transducer is run over the gel placed area to capture real time scan images of the concerned area. Once the necessary images are captured, the gel is wiped off and you are free. You will then need to wait for your reports. Cost-friendly ultrasound scans offer accuracy in reports and precision.

Disadvantages of Ultrasound Scan

The ultrasound scan is incapable of representing or showing structures that are present beneath the hard tissues. The hard tissues are the bones. Hence, the ultrasound scan cannot show the lungs appropriately as they are covered with ribs. It cannot show the detailed view of pelvic soft structures that are present beneath the pelvic bones. Additionally, the scan cannot show areas that are filled with air or gas.
